This set of 36 bronze medals of the Kings and Queens of England from William 1 to George IV appears to have been assembled during the reign of William IV (1820 – 1830). It comprises of 33 medals from the Kings and Queens series by Jean Dassier struck from dies engraved in 1731, the death medal of George II engraved by Antoine Dassier in 1760, the death medal of George III engraved by Thomas Wyon, senior, in 1820, and a unifaced medal of George IV engraved by Jacques Jean Barre. The medals are in EF condition and contained in a contemporary three tier velvet-lined brown leather book case with gilded sides (26.5 x 15.5 x 5.5cm). The case is complete and in good order.
